Effect of Protein Doses in Rations Based on Local Ingredients on the Growth of Oreochromis niloticus in Tropical Environment.

This study aims to develop a feed that increases weight gain in breeding Oreochromis niloticus. Performance of experimental feeds on the growth of Oreochromis niloticus in 6 happas of 1m3 in size was tested. Ninety finger lings of 17 g of average weight each were used for this experiment. The 3 rations with different protein contents are: T1: 30% crude protein, T2: 40% crude protein, T3: 50% crude protein. The data collected was analyzed with S.A.S 9.4 USA software. All study parameters showed no significant differences between the different treatments. However, all three rations showed good growth performance of Oreochromis niloticus. Although the difference was not significant between the treatments in terms of growth parameters, a clear difference can be seen at the cost of producing a kilogram of fish, T3 has a greater economic benefit.
